Dungeon Character Pack

I created these animations a few years ago as part of a prototype dungeon crawler game.

I thought it was about time I looked through my unreleased work and put some of it to good use, so I'm making these animations available as assets.

The pack contains 15 characters, each with attack animations, walk cycles, and a few other contextual actions.

The human sized characters are 11 pixels wide and 30 pixels tall, and the full frame size is 96x64 including empty space. The extra space was used when animating and it's advisable to trim it when using the sprites in an engine.

5 of the characters were created to be player controlled:

An armoured Knight with a sword and shield.

A dagger-wielding Rogue.

A fist-fighting Brawler.

A spellcasting Mage.

An axe-wielding Bandit.

Additionally there are 10 enemies:

A tall armoured knight, plus a boss version with special attacks and a longer combo.

A mutant crab-man with sharp claws.

A large four-legged monster, plus a lion version.

A pair of player-sized enemies wielding Spears and Swords.

A gardener with a chainsaw.

Plus a mushroom man and a shadow person.

I also threw in some basic stone/brick tiles, a treasure chest, and some animated blood spray.

The specific animations vary based on the character but all of the player characters have the following:

A walk cycle.

An attack combo with multiple hits.

A blocking frame / animation.

A knockback frame, and 2 frames of knockdown.

A roll dodge.

A stun frame.

A vault (climbing up), some frames can double as jumping / falling.

Drinking a potion.

There are also some extra frames / alternate stances included for some of them.

The enemy characters have most of these except for the potion animation, but it varies between them.

The animations are included as individual frames sorted into named folders.

I have also included the source files so that you can make edits and export the sprites yourself if you'd like. The source files are in .gal format and can opened in GraphicsGale (it's free).
